Do your mattresses off gas?
Pinwheel Sleep mattresses and covers have been independently tested and certified by UL to meet GREENGUARD Gold standards for the lowest chemical emissions. The standards are among the most rigorous in the world to test for the lowest measurements of chemical emissions such as VOCs, and certifies that Pinwheel products help to promote a healthier indoor air quality.
What is your cover made of?
Our cover is made of multiple 3-d layers of spacer fabric quilted together designed to maximize airflow. One side of our cover offers a TPU coating beneath the 3-d spacer fabric for easier cleanup and peace of mind.
Is the cover waterproof?
Yes, our 2-stage 3-d breathable cover was designed with flexibility in mind. It offers a water resistant side for infants to maximize breathability, then a waterproof layer under the 3-d multi layer breathable spacer construction for easy cleanup during toddler years. You can use the waterproof side of the spacer cover for both infant and toddler years if you choose.
What is the mattress made of?
Our mattresses start with a temperature regulating Octaspring core topped with comfort layers for different stages of your baby’s growth. It is encased by a glass free chemical free fire barrier, then covered by a 100% breathable hypoallergenic spacer cover.
Do you use a flame retardant for the mattress?
We do not. Our 100% glass free, chemical free barrier is constructed of natural viscose and polyester. This barrier is safe on skin and GreenGuard Gold certified. Federal Flammability Standards: 16 CFR Parts 1632 and 1633 requires that all crib mattresses pass rigorous burn testing. We comply with these Federal standards without the use of FR chemicals.
Will your mattresses fit in standard cribs?
Our crib mattress has been designed for a snug fit complying with all mandatory safety standards of standard sized US cribs, measured as 52” x 28” x 5.5”
What is Octaspring Technology?
Brilliantly innovative, Octaspring® technology combines the comfort of foam and the responsiveness of a spring. Designed to move independently in three dimensions, the all-foam springs work together to deliver incredible comfort and environmental benefits.
How do I remove the cover to wash it?
The cover has a zipper all the way around to allow for easy removal. When washing it is recommended to leave the cover fully zippered.
Can I buy an additional mattress cover?
We encourage you to always have a replacement cover on hand! They’re easy to swap out – so you can be sure your baby is always sleeping on the cleanest surface possible. You can add them to your cart here.
Are Pinwheel Sleep products Hypoallergenic?
Yes, Pinwheel Sleep mattresses are made of only clean components. As a result of the crib mattresses’ breathability and Octaspring Technology, it naturally keeps moisture and humidity away.
What is the warranty policy?
All Pinwheel Sleep mattresses and accessories come with a Limited Lifetime Warranty. This warranty extends to mattresses purchased directly from Pinwheel Sleep or from an authorized retailer. All Pinwheel Sleep warranties, including any implied warranties, are valid only for the period of time the product is owned by the original purchaser of the Mattress, and is non-transferable. This limited warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear, damage from misuse, soiling and staining caused by grease, inks, cosmetics, bleach, dyes, solvents, corrosives; intentional or accidental damage/abuse, (i.e. cutting into the material); misuse/mishandling of the product and any of its components; or to a product that does not contain the original manufacturer’s law tag. As a part of the limited warranty, the purchaser pays all return shipping costs.
How are our mattresses packaged?
The mattresses ship compressed and rolled. By doing this we are able to fit more boxes on each truck, saving on shipping space for a smaller carbon footprint.
Will accidents leak through without waterproof protection?
While we know babies are messy, most leaks will not penetrate through the water resistant spacer cover. This makes it easy to remove the cover and launder. However, you may want to consider using the waterproof side of the cover for added protection and peace of mind.
Are your mattresses comfortable?

Do Pinwheel Sleep Mattresses have a lower carbon footprint than other crib mattresses?
Due to Octaspring® Technology, our Octaspring® layers use 50% less material creating less waste and use no metals which is better for the environment.

Pinwheel mattresses feature patented Octaspring® technology which is 8x more breathable than foam products. This natural airflow allows your baby to sleep cooler.
